Christine A. Krahling is the editor of Lehigh Valley Marketplace. Before taking this position, she was a development director, public relations consultant and freelance writer. She has published articles on philanthropy, the arts, health, food, business and lifestyle topics. She has also written book and restaurant reviews. She also blogs at www.celiacsavvy.wordpress.com.
Christine is the recipient of the Writer’s Digest Writing Competition Award (2011) in the Magazine Feature Article Category for her article, “7 Tips for a Successful Book Club” which appeared in the February 2011 issue of Lehigh Valley Marketplace. Christine’s article placed
95th out of over 1,000 winners.
Christine’s essay titled “The Most Meaningful Legacies Can’t be Measured” was published in the Hallmark book, 50 Truths Worth Knowing. She is also a contributor to the book, Tell Me What to Eat if I Have Celiac Disease, and has had Op-Ed pieces on domestic violence as well as her experience at the new Yankee Stadium published in The Morning Call. Christine founded the Friends of Fiction Book Club in 2001 and has hosted authors Adriana Trigiani and Ben Sherwood. Christine was featured in The Morning Call’s “What I’m Reading” and has been interviewed about book clubs for The Express-Times.
Christine holds an associate’s degree in liberal arts/psychology and a certificate in public relations from Middlesex County College (NJ). She was the vice-president of the former
GFWC-Easton Area Women’s Club where she was responsible for all facets of public relations. She has developed a seminar titled, “Marketing your Direct Sales Business.” As a public relations consultant, Christine’s client list included Rodale, Inc., ProJeCt Easton and Sagra Cooking as well as Dawn Josephson, “The Master Writing Coach” and James T. Brown, Ph.D., PMP.

Sara Hauff Doran is an award-winning writer who was born and raised in the Lehigh Valley. She is a Pilates instructor who specializes in articles on fitness and entertainment. In addition to being a freelance writer, she is health correspondent for the radio show “The Raffaele Report” on WCHE-1520-AM in West Chester, Pa.

Carole is Professor Emeritus at Lehigh University where, in between traveling the world and collecting autographed cookbooks, she taught writing and public relations courses for 25 years. Ruth Heil
Ruth Heil is a freelance writer who cares about simplicity, creative expression, and environmental awareness. She works to accurately translate scientific information into easy-to-understand, general-interest articles. Originally from Walnutport, she an active member of the environmental conservation communities of both the Lehigh and Upper Perkiomen Valleys. She has written for the Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal, Pennsylvania Magazine, the 2010 Songwriter’s Market, and a variety of small business clients.

Sara Hodon is a freelance writer whose work has appeared in a variety of print and online publications. Additionally, she is a program manager for a nonprofit organization, a graduate student at Kutztown University and a college English instructor. Frederick Jerant
Frederick Jerant has freelanced for Lehigh Valley Marketplace, several Morning Call special sections, and other local publications, as well as for Irrigation and Green Industry News, Luxury Homes Quarterly, Premium Incentive Products and Modern Concrete. He also has experience in corporate advertising, copywriting and PR. When he can tear himself away from the keybaord, Fred is an avid cook (much to his family’s delight). He’s also a big fan of classic television and B-grade science fiction films. Fred volunteers his communication skills for the Lehigh Valley Coalition for Organ and Tissue Donation, an outreach and education group.

Cathy Kiley has enjoyed fine international cuisine during her extensive travels and has written restaurant reviews for the last 20 years both in the Lehigh Valley and on Long Beach Island, New Jersey. As a former contributor to The Morning Call, she initiated and wrote the ”About Easton” column for the weekly Sunday Magazine.
Jennifer LoConte
Jennifer LoConte is a freelance writer with ties to the Lehigh Valley and Boston, MA. She was employed with the Boston PD, first in Public Relations and then as an analyst in the Domestic Violence Unit. She received her BA in Professional Writing from Emerson College and MA in Criminal Justice from Suffolk University. Jennifer enjoys meeting and writing about interesting people, places and organizations of the Lehigh Valley. She is also the race director of J’s Run, a local 5k fundraiser for pancreatic cancer research. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, exercising and reading. Ashley Kera
Ashley Kera is a Political Science major with a Creative Writing minor. She will be graduating this December looking to pursue a career that incorporates her passion for writing, health and wellness, media and communications. In her junior year, she was asked to be the candidate to represent her college for the national Truman Scholarship. In addition to also interning at a local Pennsylvania law firm, on-campus, Ashley is on the executive board of the Delta Zeta sorority and an active participant in other campus and community service activities.
